Gothenburg is a lively place to shop, with a great mix of modern department stores, shopping centres and shopping streets.

The big brand stores stand side by side with craft shops and other specialist boutiques. Good areas for shopping or a touch of inspiration are Linnéstaden, Haga, Vasastaden, Nordstan and Avenyn. Scandic Europa is located in Nordstan and Scandic Rubinen is a short walk from Kungsgatan and NK. The Scandic Rubinen hotel is located on the shopping street Avenyn and Scandic Opalen is only five minutes away. Scandic Backadal is close to both Backadal's shopping centre and Eriksberg's business centre.
