15 minutes by ferry from the Market Square, which is just a short stroll away from our hotel Scandic Grand Marina, lies the historic island of Suomenlinna. The island of Suomenlinna has a fortress, museum, brewery and a beach. Enjoy a wonderful picnic on the cliffs with a view to the open sea. Helsinki Zoo lies on Korkeasaari, which can be reached by boat or via the island of Mustikkamaa, with its summer restaurants and good rocks to fish off. From the centre, you can also get on boats that will take you to nearby islands for swimming. If you fancy a good run, put on your running shoes and head to the Töölönlahti bay, which is located opposite to Scandic Continental.
