The city's most famous art centres are Malmö Konsthall and Malmö Art Museum, with its exclusive collection of Scandinavian 20th-century art.

Malmö also has around 50 galleries. There is also a wide range of theatres, operas and concerts. The Scandic Kramer hotel is within walking distance to Wallmans Salonger and Scandic St:Jörgen is close to the Malmö Opera.

Västra Hamnen is well worth a visit. The area is right on the waterfront, with exciting architecture and marvellous promenades. You can explore the Turning Torso skyscraper, canals, ponds, marinas and bathing spots. Both the Scandic Kramer and Scandic St:Jörgen hotels are within walking distance to Västra Hamnen. The area has won awards as an ecological residential area, and was opened in 2001 as part of the European housing fair Bo01.
