Moesgaard opened in the autumn of 2014 and is a fantastic architectural vision. You can walk all the way from the ground up to the roof to enjoy the views. The museum features both archaeological and ethnographic exhibits displaying human travel and development, whilst changing exhibitions show and convey our shared cultural heritage.
The stairway, which is the heart of the museum, tells the tale of man’s evolution. You can follow the exciting story of our past and see what the future has to offer. In the ancient exhibits, you can experience archaeological finds from all over the world that tell us how our ancestors lived. The exhibits also introduce you to the Grauballe Man, and give you the shivers when you look at the bodies from Alken Enge. In the ethnographic exhibit, The Lives of the Dead, you'll become that much wiser about how the dead live on in many cultures throughout the world, and you'll see your ancestors in masks from Africa and Melanesia.
