Hotels in Oslo city centre
For an excellent base, you can stay at one of our hotels in the city centre. Scandic Byporten, Scandic Oslo City, Scandic Karl Johan and Scandic Grensen all have the perfect location if you want to see most of Oslo city centre in one day. Here you can see Jernbanetorget station, walk around the Opera House in Bjorvika, walk from the modern Barcode area to the eccentric Gronland area, and take a stroll up the pedestrian street Karl Johans gate. All our hotels are located close to the airport express train taking you to Oslo Airport Gardermoen in 20 minutes.

If you visit Oslo in the summer, we recommend you head to the Opera House and the new area Sorenga. This area is vibrant with life, and you can’t leave Oslo without having visited the newest attraction at Vippetangen, Vippa food hall. The area is brimming with people, and the atmosphere is electric.
When you arrive to the area Spikersuppa and the National theatre, you can’t avoid noticing the acclaimed Grand hotell. This is the hotel for those wanting luxury and beautiful surroundings. Culture and history
Oslo offers great experiences for culture and history lovers, with its many museums and sights. The most popular of all is the park Frognerparken, also known as Vigelandsparken. To stay within walking distance of the park, check in to Scandic Solli or Scandic Sjølyst. The latter is located a little further away but offers a wonderful nature path almost all the way to the park. Scandic Sjølyst is perfect if you want to combine sea and city, with its location close to the sea and within walking distance of Bygdoy. At Bygdoy you’ll find a variety of museums including Fram, Kon-Tiki, Vikingskipshuset, the open-air museum Folkemuseet and Bygdoy kongsgård – in other words, tourist sights to fill a whole weekend! Nature and fresh air
Oslo is located right next to a large forest area, and you’re just a short ride away from Holmenkollen if you take the underground in the direction Frognerseteren. Here you can check in to our iconic Scandic Holmenkollen Park, for the undisputed best views of Oslo. Our hotel has lots of history seeping through its walls, and the famous dragon building dates back to 1894. The hotel is located in the immediate vicinity of the ski jump and the Ski Museum – the world’s oldest specialist museum for skiing.
