Questions and answers for Scandic Friends members
Why are Scandic Friends reinstating the voucher?
We removed the voucher earlier this year due to COVID-19, since many of our restaurants closed, and instead offered more points per spend. And because of valuable feedback and comments from our members, we're reintroducing it back to the program.
Will I receive the voucher at all Scandic Hotels?
The voucher will return at all Scandic hotels January 14, 2021.
Who will get the voucher?
All members from Level 2 and upwards are entitled to their voucher from January 14, 2021, when staying on a voucher qualifying rate. This includes all point qualifying rates, but Reward Nights are excluded.
Will the voucher have the same preferences as before?
Yes, we will bring back the voucher exactly as it was before March 23, 2020.
Will you adjust the conversion rate for spending points in restaurants?
Yes, we are happy to let you know that we have been able to change the conversion rate to become more generous, and it will be reduced by 25%, starting from January 14, 2021. Find the new conversion rates.
Can I combine the voucher and use my Scandic Friends points for food and beverage when paying my bill?
Yes. You can add the bill to your room and use the voucher and points for payment upon check out.
Where can I use the voucher?
You can use the voucher at the hotel for food and beverages in the Scandic shop, restaurant and bar during your stay.
If the restaurant is closed can I still use the voucher?
Of course! You can always find something to eat or drink at the Scandic Shop, which is open 24/7.
I really liked the higher points earning, can I get more points instead of the voucher?
We have done a lot of research and have spoken to many of our members, so we know that the extra points were popular. For now, we have brought back the voucher after listening to lots of great feedback from our members and therefore the point earning rate will go back to normal. We will of course continue to further develop our program in order to make sure that our members appreciate the membership to the fullest.
Why doesn't Scandic keep the higher earning rate and reinstate the voucher?
The higher earn rate was a replacement for the voucher. As much as we would like to do both, that wouldn't be possible. However, we always strive to develop the best membership program that we can, with as good benefits as possible.
Can I get retroactive vouchers for the stays I have since it was discontinued?
All nights stayed up until January 14, 2021 will be rewarded with the higher point earning. After January 14, 2021, the earning rate will go back to normal, and instead you will receive the restaurant voucher upon check-in.
Can I get vouchers for days before January 14, 2021, if I my stay started before January 14 and ends after?
Unfortunately, you will only be able receive vouchers from January 14 and for the rest of your stay. You may collect the vouchers from the front desk of the hotel you’re staying at. If your stay started before January 14, you will be rewarded with the higher earning rate for these days.
Will the voucher be removed again?
We know that the voucher is a very appreciated benefit for our frequent staying members. However, we will always keep on listening to our members and strive to be better developing benefits that is requested by you.
