Why do you launch a new membership program?

We’re one of the largest loyalty programs in the nordics and in the hotel industry and our members are important to us. Our ambition is to live up to our your expectations and have a loyalty program that’s in the forefront. That’s why listen to you and try to make changes that will benefit our members.

what will happen to the floor I’m on?

Instead of 4 floors, our new loyalty program has 5 levels. but don't worry, you will not be downgraded. Soon you will find more information about your new level. However, during the system cutover period, we might not be able to show what floor or level you’re on and your expiring point balance. The first level of the new program is called Level 1.

How will new ways to earn and spend points affect me?

Before you earned the same amount of points regardless of the room price. In new scandic friends, the earning will be based on room price and your tier status. We will also add new ways to earn, we will tell you more at launch. you will start to earn points according to the new program at launch.

How long will I keep my current level?

Your membership level last 1 year from the day you’ve entered it. On your digital membership card you can see the expiration date. Find the card on My page or as a link in a Scandic Friends email.

Is it possible to be downgraded?

Yes, if you haven't stayed the number of nights/points needed to maintain your level,  you will move down one level, except Level 1. But keep in mind, you can only move down one level at a time during a 12-month period.

I can’t remember my membership number

You'll find your member number on your digital member card or in an email from Scandic Friends. You can also contact our membership service.

what’s the difference between base points and bonus points?

with base points, you both climb to the next level and spend. bonus points are just for spending. we will tell you more when the new program is launched.

I'm missing points what should I do?

If you’re missing points you’re more than welcome to contact our membership service. Just keep in mind that it might take up to 10 days for your points to show after you earned them. 

How do I earn points?

We have two different type of points, base points and bonus points. Points can be earned in several ways e.g. by booking a qualifying night, choosing to book on our web or eating in one of our restaurants during your stay (if you put the bill on your room).

How do I spend my points with the new loyalty program?

You can spend you points as before and in new ways  e.g. on  hotel extras, new partners and much more.

How do I know my points status?

On My page you can see how many points you’ve earned. On My page you also find your membership level, how many points/night you need to reach the next level and upcoming hotel stays.

For how long will my points be valid before they expire in the new program?

The base points that count towards a new membership level are valid for climbing during a 12-month period, after which they will be added to the Member’s account of spending points. These spending points will then be available for another 24 months. Base- and bonus points are valid for 36 months from respective month of earnings. The points will be available to spend for 36 months before expiry. Points earned before 23 January, 2018, are valid for 36 months, from 31 December, the year they were earned. You can see when your points will expire under My page or in the.

What’s a qualifying night?

A qualifying night means that you’ll earn points and that the night counts towards a higher membership level. Most bookings made on Scandic website, with a hotel directly, Reservation & Member service or corporate self-booking tools are point qualifying. With a few exceptions for complimentary stays, reward nights or other special agreement rates. However, bookings made through a third party website (e.g. Hotels.com, Expedia, Booking.com,) group booking or Tour Operators will not count as qualifying nights.

I stayed at one of your hotels but can’t see my earned points, how come?

It can take up to 10 days for your points to display on My page. If you still doesn’t see your points after 10 days you can always register your missing points.

How does Reward nights work?

A reward night is a hotel stay you can book with the points you’ve earned as a member. You can still book a reward night one year in advance. The difference is that you can receive extended access if you climb to our higher levels and that you can book a reward night with partial payment, combining points and cash.  A reward night is not point qualifying and you can only book Standard rooms.

How do I order a reward night voucher?

You can no longer order reward night vouchers. But don't forget that you can book a reward night one year in advance.

How does the restaurant voucher work?

As a member of Level 2, Level 3, Top Level and Red Level you'll receive a restaurant voucher for each qualifying night you stay. You can use the voucher for food in our restaurant and shop during your stay. The restaurant voucher is valid for food and beverage from the restaurant, bar, shop, minibar (not liquor, sweets, nuts, crisps) at the hotel during the stay.

I have lost my membership card. How do I get a new one?

We have a digital card that you easily download  to your phone. Find it on My page or download it to your smart phone through the link you find in emails from Scandic Friends.  If you prefer a non-digital card you can of course order one.

I have forgotten my password. How do I log in?

I do not receive emails from Scandic Friends, why?

I don’t want to receive emails from Scandic Friends, what should I do?

You can always cancel marketing communication from us.  Just click the link ‘Cancel news and offers’ in an email you’ve received from us. You can also contact hour member service. Please note, if you unsubscribe you won’t receive information regarding your membership, points status or head start of our campaign? of holiday offers. However, you will still receive information about your booking.

How do I get in contact with Scandic Friends
