The Vertical Penalty

The Vertical Penalty is a football stunt in partnership with Rosenborg BK (RBK), Norways biggest footballteam and winner of last years series and cup. An ordinary penalty can be nerve-wrecking enough with everyones eyes on the penalty-taker. What if you enter an additional challenge? Take a look at what happened when we let football player Pål André Helland climb over the edge of the 74 meter high Scandic Lerkendal to take the vertical penalty.

Scandic Lerkendal is located nextdoor to Lerkendal Stadium, and last year we arranged the ultimate workout for RBK, "The Epic Volley", where the players attempted to pull off a volley from the 74 m tall hotel above stadium. The film became a viral hit nationally and internationally with views on all continents. This year we wanted to take it a step further. Scandic challenged RBK player Pål André Helland to take the world's first vertical penalty, hanging by a thread on the wall of Scandic Lerkendal.
