Experience Tampere with children
The whole family can enjoy Tampere for a whole weekend. There is plenty to do, and moving around is easy in the compact city.
Amusements all day long
Begin your visit to Tampere by seeing the views of the city from the Näsinneula observation tower. In clear weather, you can see as far as the neighbouring municipalities, over 20 kilometres away, from the viewing deck. The Särkänniemi amusement park attracts both children and adults. Entrance to the area is free, and it is open all year round. (The amusement park area is open only in the summer.) There are plenty of attractions in the area to visit in the winter. For example, the Planetarium and the Koiramäki town and farmstead.
SuperPark Särkänniemi is a sporty indoor activity park for the whole family. You will have a lot of fun here, and there are plenty of things to keep you moving – all year round and in any weather. Buy tickets to SuperPark at the hotel reception.
It is worth getting to know the Tampere’s playgrounds. The Pikku Kakkonen park and the Tiitiäinen fairytale park make children move all year. Thanks to their versatility, everyone enjoys a day in the park. In the duck park, you can play games and have a picnic.
Exciting moments and familiar characters
There are also plenty of other things to do for the whole family in Tampere. The collection at the Moomin Museum in Tampere Hall, includes about 2,000 pieces, the main attraction being the blue, five-storey Moomin house. You can get to know the work of the police in the Police Museum in Hervanta, where you can sit in a police car or dress in the police uniform. You can also experience exciting moments in the downtown Spy Museum, where you can learn about ciphering, eavesdropping and take an agent test.
