At Scandic, we love sports and are proud to have hosted everyone from the smallest kids to the biggest stars over the decades. We want to celebrate the volunteers who keep the community sports scene alive. With a record of over 2,600 nominations, we proudly presented the fantastic winner of 2024, Linda Åström from Umeå,
Linda Åström Årets sportförälder 2024
Through her role in the Björklöven U14 team, Linda creates a safe and joyful environment where young people can grow both on and off the ice. As an "extra mom" to many, she has built a strong sense of community and given the hockey team the conditions to focus on what matters most - the joy of the sport.
Linda received several prizes after winning the Sports Parent of the Year 2024. Tickets for the team to a sports event in Sweden and an overnight stay at one of Scandic's hotels. It also included VIP packages, a gala dinner at the yearly Idrottsgalan, plus another overnight stay at any Scandic hotel, and a leadership training session with SISU sports educators.
