A sense of well-being in just three minutes: that’s how much – or rather how little – time it takes to walk from Nuremberg Central Station to our newest hotel in Germany. And just a few steps further, the city’s picturesque Old Town awaits. It’s no surprise why we chose such a fitting name for the hotel: Scandic Nürnberg Central. We set high importance in our hotels being comfortable, sustainable, individual and functional – including our newest hotel in Bavaria’s second-largest city. Every element of Scandic Nürnberg Central speaks these qualities, from the 311 spacious, classy and modern rooms, studios and suites, right the way through to the stylish relaxation area with its two saunas and indoor pool (with costs). The gym impresses with state-of-the-art equipment, plenty of space for yoga and stretching and a 180-degree panoramic view. Franconia meets world – no truer motto could be said for this hotel, especially its cuisine. The hotel can cater to all your event needs, whether big or small, and offers three meeting rooms and a ballroom furnished with historic details. Always included: natural light, high-quality technology and fuss-free catering that uses local produce.
History awaits around every corner you turn in Nuremberg Old Town, including the Kaiserburg Imperial Castle, quaint half-timbered houses, perfectly preserved city walls and a labyrinth of cellar corridors. So it’s a good thing Scandic Nürnberg Central is only a few minutes away from all these sights – which you might have already guessed from our address on Frauentorgraben. The Frauentormauer wall directly behind this street forms part of the impressive city walls, so your sightseeing tour really does begin as soon as you set foot outside the hotel. Another famous site not far from the hotel is Albrecht Dürer’s House. It is one of the city’s most popular museums, and you can either walk the short distance or take public transport. As well as being a place of art and culture, Nuremberg is also characterised by a wide variety of culinary specialities. For example, from Monday to Saturday, there is a weekly market at the Hauptmarkt (main market square) with stalls from around 40 different traders. One of the highlights is the so-called “3 im Weggla” or “Franken to Go” – three little grilled Rostbratwurst sausages served in crusty bread roll with yellow mustard. Every year this central square becomes the home of the famous Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt, one of the oldest Christmas markets in the world. In addition to the Nuremberg Christ Child, who opens the Christmas Market with a festive prologue speech, this is the time when the famous German gingerbread “Lebkuchen” also make their grand appearance.
