Scandic Hotels is the largest hotel company in the Nordics with a long-standing commitment to sustainability and accessibility. We work to ensure that our digital platforms for booking hotel rooms and similar services (scandichotels.com and the Scandic app) are accessible to all users. As part of this effort, we strive to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. However, we are aware that some content on our digital platforms currently does not fully meet the requirements of WCAG 2.1 level AA.
scandichotels.com partially meets the requirements of WCAG 2.1 level AA. Identified areas for improvement include:
- Difficulties using certain features at high zoom
- Lack of keyboard scrolling in some dialog boxes
- Missing or insufficient alternative text for images
- Some dialog boxes automatically close after a short period
- Inconsistent heading hierarchy
Scandic app partially meets the requirements of WCAG 2.1 level AA. Identified areas for improvement include:
- Dynamic text settings that do not adjust text size correctly
- Limited screen reader compatibility for certain features
- Missing or insufficient alternative text for images
- Support for landscape mode
- Inconsistent heading hierarchy
We are actively working to resolve accessibility issues. This work includes reviews by external parties. This accessibility statement will be updated as we improve our digital platforms.
