1. The English Garden

Want to really breathe and unwind? Then head to the English Garden. At 375 hectares, the park is Munich's largest inner-city green space. Here you'll find not only the famous Eisbach wave, which invites surfing all year round, but also architectural highlights like the Chinese Tower and the Monopteros Temple. The park also features numerous beer gardens for relaxing and an amphitheater. Various events take place here, especially in July and December.
The English Garden also includes 12 km of riding trails. Riding courses and excursions are offered here.

2. Olympic Park

The Olympic Park is known for its attractions like the Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Hall, and the Olympic Tower with a breathtaking view. The modern architecture is particularly striking. The 85-hectare park is popular with recreational athletes for jogging, rowing, or playing tennis.
Interesting facts: In August 2022, a "Mini-Olympics" will be held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Olympic Games. You can also play soccaFive (a trendy sport) in the Olympic Park.

3. Nymphenburg Palace Park
The Nymphenburg Palace Park is one of the largest garden complexes in Germany. Enclosed by a garden wall, the Baroque-style complex includes the palace park, park castles, and numerous museums. Walking here feels like stepping back in time. The entire park is a protected monument.
4. Hofgarten near the Residenz

The Hofgarten, with its many benches, is a green oasis of relaxation in the heart of Munich. The Diana Temple in the middle of the park is particularly worth seeing. Numerous fountains, flower beds, and gravel paths invite you to take extensive walks. Directly adjacent to the Hofgarten, you will find the famous Odeonsplatz.
Interesting facts: Occasionally listen to musicians or watch dancers rehearsing in the Diana Temple in the Hofgarten. The park also offers the most beautiful boules areas in Munich.

6. Riemer Park
Riemer Park is Munich's third-largest park and is especially known for its excellent swimming lake. Besides swimming enthusiasts, Riemer Park is also suitable for all other sports activities – from toboggan hills to beach volleyball courts to skate parks, there's something for everyone.
Interesting facts: Riemer Park received the German Landscape Architecture Award for its strict symmetry (clear lines and straight embankments).

7. Luitpoldpark
Enjoy a fabulous view of the city center from the 37-meter-high Luitpold Hill. In the green Luitpoldpark, you can also have extensive picnics or play frisbee. The park offers a lot for children, such as the winding hedge maze or the Pumuckl playground.
Interesting facts: Luitpoldpark was created as a birthday gift: In 1911, Bavarian Prince Regent Luitpold turned 90, so 90 linden trees were planted for him. The park was then laid out around the 90 linden trees.
9. Bavariapark

This beautiful park is located right behind the Bavaria statue and, at 6.8 hectares, is one of the smaller parks in Munich. It is ideal for those who love a peaceful atmosphere, as it rarely gets crowded. The large green areas are perfect for picnics and ball games.
Interesting facts: Bavariapark is considered an important biotope, allowing for nature observations in the quietest parts of the park.
