There are activities in all spectrums for both young and old, whether you travel alone or with others, whether you like speed and excitement or peace and relaxation. In winter, Voss transforms into a winter wonderland, and you can enjoy the slopes at Western Norway's largest ski resort or kilometers of cross-country trails in the beautiful mountain landscape.
Voss Gondola, our closest neighbor, takes you straight to the mountain, 820 meters above sea level in 9 minutes. The gondola operates year-round and is just as nice to take in summer as in winter. At the top, you'll find Hangurstoppen restaurant where you can enjoy a good meal. Round trip with the gondola for a family with two adults and all children under 18 costs 1086,-. The family package can be ordered here. If you want individual discounted tickets, they can be purchased from a machine in the hotel lobby - 340 NOK for adults round trip and 225 NOK for children round trip.
In collaboration with Voss Resort, we offer ski packages in the winter season that include ski passes, unlimited gondola rides, and accommodation with breakfast. For the more extreme ski enthusiast, we recommend a guided summit tour with Øystein in Wild Voss.
If you want indoor activities, we recommend trying indoor flying at Voss Vind. In the wind tunnel, you can experience real adrenaline in safe surroundings.
In summer and autumn, there are many exciting outdoor activities for the whole family, friends, or the more extreme. Scandic Voss is only 200 meters from Vangsvatnet, where there are great swimming opportunities in summer and the possibility to rent kayaks and SUPs.
Vått og Vilt – Vått og Vilt offers basic courses in river paddling and sea kayaking.
Outdoor Norway offers rental of kayaks, SUPs, and bikes at Vangsvatnet, as well as tailor-made guided tours and rafting.
A very popular activity in Voss is rafting, with various difficulty levels available. Voss Active offers both rafting, outdoor spa, and a very cool climbing and zipline park just 10 minutes away by car.
Autumn is the best time for mountain hiking in Voss, the mountains in the Voss and Hardanger region are a paradise for both short and long hikes. Tips for hikes with the best Instagram photos; Lønahorgi, Kiellandbu, Oksen in Hardanger, and Gråsidetoppen. Rallarvegen has been voted Norway's most beautiful cycling route. The trip from the "roof of Norway" down to Aurlandsfjorden offers majestic waterfalls and many great nature experiences.
In Voss, you will find Norway's largest parachute club, which is more than happy to take you on a tandem jump if you feel like a little extra thrill in the air. You also have the opportunity to go tandem paragliding.
Voss has a rich cultural history, at Voss Folkemuseum you can experience the authentic Mølstertunet, which stands just as it did when people lived there hundreds of years ago. If you want to get closer to the forces of nature, we recommend visiting the waterfalls surrounding Voss, such as Skjervsfossen and Tvindefossen. Also, visit the spectacular natural attraction Bordalsgjelet, which is a short distance from the center of Voss. Flåm is also a well-known cultural destination and is only an hour's drive from Voss. Here you can take the famous Flåm Railway, the longest zipline in the Nordics, or visit the spectacular viewpoint Stegastein.
