Malmo offers trendy shopping centres, antique fairs and a diversity of restaurants. The city is often called the city of musicals. A lively city all the year round. Flowering gardens from early spring to ice skating or a cold bath on a winter day.
Music, eateries and a dip in the sea
Malmo is crammed with events and music, setting the right tone of everything. The cultural stage is offering theatre plays like classics but also modern pieces and guided tours backstage at the Malmö Opera. At Pildammsparken you can join in community singing and lean back at the open air cinema.
For the fearless ones, we recommend a dip in cold temperatured water at the Ribersborg cold bath or "Kallis" that Malmö residents say. Relax both body and soul in the sauna by the sea. In the West Harbour Turning Torso is towering up and you can test your skill in Stapelbäddsparken, one of Europe's largest skating facility.
Step aboard the U3, a submarine from the second world war, at the Science and Maritime Museum or check out the aquarium. If you´re interested in sightseeing, have a round trip by boat on the canals of Malmo.
Rest your feet from time to time
If you´re on the go between shopping and attractions, a nice cup of coffee will keep your energy up. Bring the coffee to go down to the canal or sit down on Möllevångstorget with one of the city's most coveted cappuccinos in your hand. Visit Slottsholmen where you´ll find Malmöhus Castle which is Scandinavia's oldest preserved Renaissance castle. The castle is a part of Malmo Museer which is a complex of museums with a wide variety of exhibitions.
Emporia in Hyllie, one of the largest shopping malls, is a mecca for shoppers. Jump on the train and arrive to the mall Triangeln in just a few minutes. Small shops and exclusive designer brands can be found along the pedestrian street between Stortorget and Gustav Adolf Square.
