Textile-free: It’s generally standard to be nude in German saunas for hygiene reasons, though you should always sit on a towel.
No sweat on wood: Please ensure your towel is large enough so no part of your body touches the bench directly.

Do all Scandic hotels in Germany have a sauna?
Most of our German properties feature sauna facilities, but it can vary by location. We suggest checking the specific hotel page to be sure before you book.
Is there a fee to use the hotel sauna?
For our overnight guests, access to the sauna and fitness areas is typically included in your stay. At our hotel in Nuremberg, there is a charge of €10 per room to access the pool and sauna area during your stay.
Is there a dress code for the hotel sauna?
Consistent with German culture, our saunas are textile-free zones. You should head in without swimwear, but please bring a large towel to sit on.
Can I book a private Scandic sauna for a meeting or group?
Our saunas are shared spaces for everyone to enjoy together. If you have a group, just give us a call and we can chat about how to best welcome you.
