What are the best areas to stay in Stockholm?
Stockholm is made up of so many quaint places, all with different vibes. Here are some of our favorites.

Stay close to Central Station, shopping, and museums. Many of our hotels here have garages or nearby lots that are easy to access. Find out more about our hotels with parking garages in Stockholm.
Gamla Stan (Old Town) and Södermalm
The Old Town's streets are charmingly narrow, which makes a hotel with nearby parking a simple choice. In Södermalm, you’re right near great food, fun nightlife, and lots of secondhand shopping. Find some favorite spots in our guide to rooftop bars in Stockholm.
Östermalm and Djurgården
Enjoy being close to parks, museums, and the waterfront. Parking here is simple, with garages, lots and nearby outdoor street parking that get you on your way to Stockholm's attractions in no time. The calm streets are great for families, especially with all the fun on Djurgården.
Solna and Friends Arena
Coming for an event? Our hotels in this area have larger parking lots and are easy to get to from the main roads. Just park your car and head over to the arena, stress-free. For more ideas, see our recommendations for hotels close to Mall of Scandinavia.
Kista and the northern suburbs
If you're here for business, these areas are a great choice. You'll find plenty of parking and easy access to the airport and highways, making it a practical home base for your meetings.
Arlanda airport area
Great for early flights or late arrivals. Our hotels here make travel feel smooth, with easy parking and shuttle connections ready for you.
How do you book parking with your stay?
It's easy. When you book, just use the 'Hotel facilities' filters to add 'Parking' (and 'electric charging' if you need it).
A few friendly tips for driving in Stockholm
For a smooth drive, a navigation app with live traffic updates is always a help. The city center can get busy, and some streets are one-way. Keep an eye out for road tolls, which are handled automatically. It’s also good to check local signs for parking rules. In winter, give yourself a little extra time for snowy conditions.
