The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde lets you experience the life of the Vikings up close, including their crafts and impressive ships. You can marvel at the 1,000 year old ships and their unique tales of drama, war and raids. The museum houses 5 original Viking ships – 2 longships, 2 trading ships and 1 fishing vessel. Walk through the boatyard and see the tools that the Vikings used and watch work being done on the boats. Dress up like a real Viking and board a Viking ship at the jetty. Visit the Viking Ship Hall and try your hand at writing with runes. Visit the museum shop, which sells Nordic products, or taste new Nordic Viking food at 'Snekken'. The museum also features special exhibits, and in the summer you can join us on a trip through the fjord to find out what life was really like for a Viking on board a Viking ship.
