The journey of Yaya and Lloyd
We challenged travel bloggers Lloyd and Yaya from UK to travel to the Nordic countries Norway and Finland during 48 hours and document their journey for us to see.
London
Our two bloggers chosen to make the most out of two days in the Nordics are Yaya and Lloyd. They have a massive following on social media and have a knack for taking incredible photograps of their destinations. This was a great opportunity for them to get our preplanned schedule to experience all the Nordic classics and for us to view their beautiful photos. They have been around the world and have tons of knowledge of making the most out of travelling.
You can find all their tips in this interview. The bloggers were readily excited when they got the news and made a video telling their social media followers about their upcoming trip. "We've got some exciting news to share with you in the video!!!" they exclaimed. They had no idea what was in store for them, no clue about where they were heading or what they were going to do for two days. They just knew they were going to the Nordic region in Europe where Scandic has most of their hotels based.
Norway
On May 31 they had reached their first destination. The picture above was the first image posted from their journey with the line "Arrived in beautiful Stavanger". Their very first stop was Scandic Stavanger City where they checked in at about noon. Here they got a warm welcome from the hotel staff. They were glad to learn they had come to Stavanger, a large city in Norway, the country of breathtaking nature and a plethora of outdoor activites.
Afternoon 13:00 - They proceeded directly to do some deep sea fishing with a professional. A day out on the sea offered them great weather and spectacular views. The first thing they did was capture the boat in a good light before they jumped on it. You never know what happens later, the central theme of their trip. Their challenge of the day was to catch as many fishes as possible.

18.00 - Well back at Scandic they had time to blog and sort their pictures straight before the big trip to Lysefjord and the nerve wrecking walk out on the Pulpit Rock, called "Preikestolen" in Norwegian. Despite the incredible height you don’t need to be hiker or mountain climber to do this expedition. Trails are easily accessible. Yaya and Lloyd see themselves more as average joes, but they had no difficulties getting to the top. Just a few breaks here and there did the trick. The view made an impression and they thanked us for showing this must-see in Norway. A late night bite and some coffee was the finishing touch to a eventful day. We say thank you to Guidecompaniet!
Finland
June 1 - 12.00 - The bloggers dropped their bags in the lobby of Scandic Paasi in Helsinki, Finland. Apparently they loved their themed room and had to take a selfie with it right from the getgo. "I can't wait to show you this amazing hotelroom at Scandic Paasi. It is themed and it is brilliant!" says Yaya when posting the photo to Facebook. Their mission in Helsinki was to head out and find Finnish design they liked and share it. Around 13.00 we got notice of their fascination with Finnish architecture.
