Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark, and the charming canal town of Aarhus suits everyone from solo travellers to families. The city is known for a blend of things to see and do, from a rich history to innovative modern art. Don't miss the The Old Town open-air museum, ARoS art museum and Tivoli Friheden amusement park. Scandic offers 3 hotels in Aarhus, all with optimum locations and easy access.
Did you know that Aalborg enjoys an impressive 8th place on the New York Times’ list of 'Places to go' in 2019? The town offers an architecturally impressive waterfront, many inspirational museums, cosy restaurants along its beachfront promenade with views of Limfjorden – and of course the bustling atmosphere all around Jomfru Ane Gade. If you’re travelling with kids, we recommend a wild animal excursion to Aalborg Zoo or an exciting day at Jumboland play centre. One of our hotels is located in the centre of town, and the other hotel is only 10 minutes from downtown and just 500 metres from sports and culture centre Gigantium.
Esbjerg is located on the west coast of Jutland in southwest Denmark. The city is the base for the country's oil industry and is the world's leading port for the shipping of offshore wind turbines. Most of the city’s sights, such as the Fisheries and Maritime Museum and Esbjerg Art Museum, are located within reasonable distance of our Scandic Olympic Hotel in Esbjerg. If you prefer shopping, you can spend hours strolling along Kongensgade, one of the longest pedestrian streets in Denmark. The Wadden Sea, located close by is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and nature holds unforgettable experiences for you here. Both on land and on water. Visit Fanø, pluck your own oysters or experience Dark Sky Park on the island of Mandø. The area is also home to one of Denmark’s best golf courses at the Esbjerg golf club.
The city of Horsens is surrounded by isles, hills and valleys, and is a charming place to visit for both couples and families. Every year Horsens hosts major cultural events, including Rock in Lunden and The Crime Festival. Also worth a visit is Faengslet, the former Horsens State Prison, where music events take place all year round.
