Copenhagen: urban wellness & sea dips

We’ve got hotels all over Denmark. In the capital, we believe that feeling good is an essential part of the hotel experience. We offer several ways for you to shake off travel stress, from comforting spa days to authentic harbor-side moments in Copenhagen.
  • Scandic Spectrum: Located right on the waterfront, our Spectrum Wellness center draws genuine inspiration from the calm of Scandinavian forests. You can step into the spacious Finnish sauna to let the warmth help you relax or enjoy a 25-meter heated pool (reserved for guests over 16).
  • Scandic CPH Strandpark: Experience the classic Danish contrast of hot and cold near the airport. Our wellness area features a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, and a unique SnowBliss snow bath. Keep an eye out for our “Saunagus” events, where a mist master circulates heat with essential oils for a shared sensory experience.
  • Scandic Copenhagen: For anyone staying near the magic of Tivoli Gardens, we offer a simple and convenient escape. Our fitness and relaxation area provides a classic, comfortable sauna experience that is perfect for loosening up before a nice dinner.

Aarhus: relax in the city of smiles

Scandic Aarhus Vest

Located right in the center of the action in Aarhus, we make it easy for you to keep up with your daily routine. Our Scandic Aarhus Vest hotel features a modern fitness center equipped with a comfortable sauna, making it an ideal spot for travelers who want to stay active and relax without having to leave the hotel.

A quick guide to Danish sauna etiquette

To help you enjoy your stay and feel like a local, we’ve put together these simple tips for a great experience at hotels with a sauna in Denmark:

  • Shower first: Please take a thorough shower with soap before entering the wellness area to keep things fresh and comfortable for everyone.

  • Use a large towel: It’s customary to sit on a towel large enough to prevent body contact with the wood for hygiene.

  • Stay hydrated: Remember to drink plenty of water before and after your session to feel your best.

  • Respect the silence: The sauna is a place for quiet contemplation, so we appreciate you respecting the other guests around you.

Frequently asked questions

  • Do all Scandic hotels in Denmark have a sauna?

No, not every hotel of ours in Denmark features a sauna. While many popular locations like Scandic Copenhagen and Scandic Aarhus Vest do, we recommend checking the specific amenities for your chosen hotel before you book.

  • Is there a fee to use the hotel sauna?

It depends on the facility. Simple saunas in standard fitness centers are typically free for guests, while extensive wellness centers like Spectrum or Strandpark usually have an additional entry fee.

  • Is there a dress code for the hotel sauna?

Yes, swimwear is required in mixed-gender wellness areas and pools. In gender-separated saunas, swimwear might be optional, but please always sit on a large towel.

  • Can I book a private Scandic sauna for a meeting or group?

We do not standardly offer private sauna rentals for meetings, but group activities like guided "Saunagus" sessions can often be arranged for conference groups at our larger facilities.
