The North Sea Oceanarium brings you right up close to the unique marine life in the North Sea. Pay a visit to the Reef – the ocean’s big city teeming with life. Meet the brown crab, one of the strongest animals in the sea for its size. Worms, mussels, sea urchins and a sea of crustaceans live side by side on Dogger Bank – an underwater desert that was created by sand drifts during the ice age. The seal colonies include grey seals and harbour seals, which, like people, are herd animals. As you walk through the glass tunnel you can watch the seals play from up close. In the outdoor tank, you can touch crabs, wade in the shallow water and catch your own crabs.
