Goldeimer (Golden Bucket) Toilet Paper

Scandic Hamburg Emporio now offers the first “real” toilet paper that is socially responsible! In collaboration with the company Goldeimer, our rooms on the 7th and 8th floors are now equipped with this socially responsible toilet paper.

This collaboration with Goldeimer is our latest project: Thanks to this socially-minded start-up company, our rooms on the 7th and 8th floors will be equipped with the first socially responsible toilet paper! Goldeimer’s toilet paper is the 'real thing' since they are the first manufacturer in Germany to intentionally name the product 'toilet paper'. This socially-responsible company is seeking to increase awareness of a fair and sustainable recycling economy, and 100% of their profits go to the work of Viva con Agua and the Welthungerhilfe (World Hunger Aid). In addition, 20 cents per pack of toilet paper go to the work of the charitable Goldeimer gGmbH organisation in order to establish access to basic sanitation for every single person in the world!

After our successful collaboration with Millerntor Gallery and Viva con Agua for the design of our 'Art Rooms', we are now supporting another social project at our hotel by working with Goldeimer.

"In addition to access to clean drinking water and food, the unrestricted availability of sanitation and sanitary standards should be the most natural thing in the world. Goldeimer together with our partner Viva con Agua offers a great extension for us and our guests. Our guests are thus further integreated into our common goal of a better world.

- Steffen Seichter, General Manager of Scandic Hamburg Emporio

What is the company, Goldeimer, all about?

Goldeimer is a social start-up company, which has become famous for its sustainable toilets at festivals, the eponymous 'Golden Buckets'. The toilets are clean, they need no water and no chemicals and the only waste they produce is compost, thus fulfilling all the criteria of a sustainable recycling economy.

With its toilet paper, Goldeimer has launched another sustainable and socially responsible product on the market. The toilet paper is made from recycled paper and is Blauer Engel certified. It finances the Viva con Agua projects of the Welthungerhilfe, and draws attention to the worldwide sanitation crisis with the designs of the artist Rebelzer!

“Our vision? All for loos! And loos for all! With our projects, we at Goldeimer seek to complete closed-loop recycling, save water and use regenerative energies. We are very pleased to have found a strong partner for our mission at Scandic Hamburg Emporio, and one that is already active in sustainability projects.”
