Also in 2018, the routes around the green Tiergarten park will be blocked off for long-distance running. Anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle, or are eager to breathe in some fresh air whilst jogging, will also find themselves in just the right place during the hot summer months. Water sports will most likely take place on the river Havel in the west part of Berlin, which has many suitable long stretches of water for this purpose. Open-air sports activities will take place in Gleisdreieck Sports Park near Potsdamer Platz. Here, sports enthusiasts will find all types of sporting equipment from skating rinks and trampolines to parallel bars and pull-up bars. Even the field at the former airport in Tempelhof offers more than enough space to many visitors for sports activities.
